The Discussion Between Knowledge Sector Initiative with National Battery Research Institute

On wednesday (31/03/2021) the Knowledge Sector Initiative (KSI) held a discussion with the NBRI team. KSI attended by Ms. Anissa Febrina, Ms. Chintya Imelda, and Mr. Antya Widita. Otherwise, NBRI attended by Prof. Dr. Evvy Kartini (the Founder of NBRI), Ms. Shinta, Mr. Adit, and Mr. Subhan. KSI supports Indonesian policymakers to develop more effective development policies through better use of research, data, and analysis. Based on collaboration with  the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Kementerian Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional/ Badan Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional, Bappenas) related to electric vehicle research, KSI coordinated with NBRI. KSI’s overall goal is to improve the use of evidence in development policymaking. The program focuses on better quality and more effective communication of policy research, more and better spending on policy research, better management, availability and accessibility of data and information for policymaking

 

During this evening virtual discussion, Prof. Dr. Evvy gives an explanation about NBRI vision and Indonesian National Research Priority.   Prof Evvy fully believes the usage of batteries in the future for green energy storage, especially Indonesia has the abundance of Nickel material.  She also reaffirms the importance and our commitment towards Sustainable Development Goals. However, Prof. Evvy expresses its hope for the needs of policy and certification bodies for battery research, for example the lab facilities, materials, productions, and products. On the other hand, KSI noting further the explanation given by Prof. Evvy and pledged that the National Research Priority will be ‘on the radar’ of The Ministry of State Owned Enterprise (Kementerian Badan Usaha Milik Negara).
