The challenge of having environmentally friendly battery materials is one of the best ways to support the Sustainable Development Goals. In order to answer these challenges, cooperation is important in integrating research and development, as well as increasing the capacity of human resources. Based on full awareness to support the creation of materials that have economic sustainability, the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) and PT Pembangunan Sulteng (PTPS) are moved to contribute to the advancement of the battery industry in Indonesia.
PT Pembangunan Sulteng represented by Leomirnandi D. Karamoy as the President Director and NBRI represented by Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Evvy Kartini agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Friday, December 17, 2021, to coincide with the one-year anniversary of the birth of NBRI. This is a manifestation of several previous discussions between NBRI and PTPS. Furthermore, the PTPS group also visited the Integrated Metallurgy and Battery Testing Facilities to review the battery production process. Also attending the event were PTPS Finance Director Henry Ranonto and PT Infiniti Finance Director Adit Tri Wiguno. The establishment of Cooperation with Regional Owned Enterprises (BUMD) is expected to be a means of transferring knowledge, especially for Indonesia in strengthening the battery sector.
