Pyrolusite as Source of Manganese for Cathode Active Materials
Pyrolusite is one of the most important sources of manganese. It is an ore with Manganese (IV) oxide (MnO2) as the main content. It has a black or black-brownish, amorphous appearing mineral, often with a granular, fibrous, or columnar structure.
It is found in several areas in Indonesia, and is one of the potential ores to be processed into manganese sulfate as raw material of Li-Ion Batteries.
